Homestay message
Hi! I'm Gary and I live with my Chinese wife Julia and daughter Sarah who is eleven years of age.
Our house is two storey brick in the leafy suburb of Graceville. We are only one street back from the Brisbane River, native turkeys wander into our yard and on our twilight walks around the grassy riverside parklands we see many possums in the trees and on the powerlines.
We have both single and double rooms; some with air conditioning. All rooms have comfortable beds with fresh linen twice weekly, desk, computer, lamp and wardrobe.
There is a 30 minute bus link to the Queensland University St Lucia (main) campus.
There are several private high schools close by and accessible by train and an elementary school is only fifteen minutes walk. There are many English Language Schools in Brisbane’s CBD which is twenty minutes by train.
There is a small supermarket in our very convenient local shopping centre. And one of Brisbane’s largest shopping malls is only fifteen minutes away by bus.
